Student Travel Programs

Student travel programs the likes of Off the chART Travel is uniquely constructed. The premise of this program is that the students are far more intelligent than they are given credit for. They are bursting to take responsibility for their own actions. Each day in high school they are lectured to and fit into small tiny boxes which, they are told, represent their future. They must jump through these hoops in order to succeed in life.

If they do not they are destined to live a destitute life devoid of any meaning or joy. This information is jammed down their student throats so often at school and at home that they forget or fail to realize that they are unique individuals living in an amazing world full of countless possibilities. Some of these student possibilities are realized when they embark on trip programs with Off the chART Travel.

First of all they are responsible, in part, for how the trip is run. The students, as a group, will decide what they do on a regular basis. The student will choose what to eat, how to cook it and when. This is a level of independence that they may have never experienced before. There is no safer place for them to begin to come out of their shell into their existence as young thoughtful student adults. The people of Western Samoa will welcome them with open arms and fully integrate them into their daily life. And this aspect of their daily life will be something that no student has ever experienced before.

This daily life of student programs is the life of a native of Samoa living in an indigenous village in the subsistence manner that they have lived for centuries. This will surely capture the imagination of any participant. To further fan the fires of curiosity and mind expansion they will work on art projects to record their experience. They will record this through a medium of their choice. It will come to represent what they saw and did while on the trip as well as what they thought and dreamed. This is a great addition to the portfolio of any aspiring art student. This art programs are a central part of the trip and students will be granted a large chunk of time each morning to work on their projects.

The programs are the artistic aspect and the aspect of student planning their own activities and programs.
