It allows collaborative efforts that may be more difficult to come by as a home school student. The group is responsible for planning their afternoon activities throughout the trip. This gives a home schooled student one thing that is familiar and one thing that may be a new experience at the same time. The familiarity is having control of pursuing their own homeschool curriculum interests.

There is more than ample opportunity for a participant to earn credit for an endeavor to the south pacific. The experience coupled with the art work makes it an ideal trip for students looking to diversify their background before applying to college, bolster their portfolio before applying to art school, or expanding their horizons in an attempt to better grasp decisions about their future. Another way this benefits homeschool curriculum is that it puts them in a group that may not be all home school students.

They are given the opportunity to explore the artistic medium to its fullest extent. At the same time they are in another culture and experiencing different ways of homeschool curriculum living. The impressions of the participants of this experience as well as that of Samoan culture come across in the art work. This is coupled with a daily journal, recorded interviews with native Samoans, and a paper upon returning to the united states and a general paper written before departure.

Off the chart curriculum is ideal for homeschool curriculum. The way the program is set up allows students to choose aspects of the trip that most interests them. Then they can focus and develop that aspect. It could be photography, painting, construction or any number of arts.
